Bibliotheca Alexandrina

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina (New Library of Alexandria) aims to revive the spirit of its ancestor. More than just a library, it includes a Main Library, 6 specialized libraries, a mirror site of the Internet Archive and 4 museums.
It features VISTA (Virtual Immersion for Science and Technology Applications), one of the most practical visualization tools available, enabling researchers to experience simulated natural or artificial phenomena in 3D, giving them new perspectives and a better understanding of the subject of their research. Thanks to this avant-garde system, which has eliminated the need for physical models, the research process becomes safer, shorter and less costly.
In addition, it houses 17 permanent exhibitions, 12 academic research centers and more than 8 institutions, including the Academia Bibliotheca Alexandrinae (ABA) and the Secretariat of the Arab National Commissions for UNESCO.
The number of institutions hosted by the BA is growing steadily. As a result, the BA has become the hub of many regional and international networks.
Today, this vast complex is a reality, welcoming over 1.5 million visitors a year.

French Association for the Prevention of Natural and Technological Disasters (AFPCNT)

The French Association for the Prevention of Natural and Technological Disasters (AFPCNT) was established in late 2000 to continue the work of the French Committee for the International Decade for Natural Disaster Prevention (DIPCN). It serves as a national center for cross-cutting, multirisk collective reflection on natural disaster risk issues and is a recognized player in international cooperation in this field.
Supported by the French Ministry of Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion (MTECT), AFPCNT brings together scientists, experts, academics, national and local elected officials, regional authorities, associations, businesses, and representatives of the State.
To this end, AFPCNT organizes meetings and discussions at the national, European, and international levels between public authorities and various civil society stakeholders. Its objective is to carry out its activities in a balanced way across four main missions outlined in its overall presentation.
