Context and Justification
The Fablab at Université Senghor has been operational since January 2024. It is a third space designed to facilitate exchange, sharing, and collaboration among students at Université Senghor on any digital fabrication project. It also serves to repair, dismantle, or repurpose complex objects, and enrich practical knowledge in computer-aided design and manufacturing, electronics, or design where students materialize co-imagined ideas and create their own prototypes.
Your mission is as follows :
Main Roles and Tasks Assigned to the Intern
- Establish an operational status of the fablab to better structure the lab’s offers and services for users ;
- Document the management and maintenance of the equipment ;
- Conduct training sessions for the university staff ;
- Make proposals for additional equipment and conduct corresponding market studies ;
- Respond to internal manufacturing requests.
Be available for any other requests.
Desired Profile
- Student at the Polytechnic Faculty in product design, electronics, or computer science with a strong interest in prototyping and fablab experiences;
- English speaker, and preferably also French speaker.
Required skills
- Proficiency of the various techniques and tools offered by the fablab: 3D printer and laser cutter.
- Proficiency in 3D software.
- Autonomy and sense of responsibility.
- Creativity.
Location, Duration, and Terms
At the Fablab of Université Senghor, for 2.5 months, full-time in-person, under an internship agreement with the educational institution to which the student is affiliated.

Rôle et tâches principales assignées au stagiaire
- Établir un état du fonctionnement du fablab afin de mieux structurer les offres et les services du laboratoire auprès des utilisateurs ;
- Documenter la gestion et la maintenance du matériel ;
- Assurer des missions de formation auprès du personnel de l’Université ;
- Faire des propositions d’équipement complémentaires et les études de marchés correspondantes ;
Répondre à des demandes de fabrication interne.
Être disponible pour toute autre sollicitation.
Profil recherché
- Étudiant à la faculté de polytechnique en design produit, en électronique ou en informatique avec un intérêt fort pour le prototypage et les expériences en fablab ;
- Anglophone et si possible francophone.
Compétences requises
- Maîtrise des différentes techniques et des outils proposés par le fablab : imprimante 3D et découpeuse laser.
- Maîtrise de logiciels 3D.
- Autonomie et sens des responsabilités.
- Créativité.
Lieu, durée et modalités
Au fablab de l’Université Senghor, pour 2,5 mois, à temps complet en mode présentiel, dans le cadre d’une convention de stage avec l’Institution de formation où l’étudiant est rattaché.
